As folhas que partem da base s\u00e3o recortadas e longas, compostas por v\u00e1rios segmentos dentados.<br \/>\nPor toda a planta circula um l\u00e1tex branco, que segrega quando cortada.<br \/>\nO c\u00e1lice \u00e9 formado por duas sepalas que caem quando a flor abre.<br \/>\nAs flores s\u00e3o volumosas, solit\u00e1rias de um encarnado p\u00e1lido, constitu\u00eddas por quatro p\u00e9talas, arredondadas com aspecto amarrotado. N\u00e3o apresenta a mancha negra na base.<br \/>\nO androceu apresenta numerosos estames com filamentos filiformes de cor preta e anteras produtoras de p\u00f3len.
