Apesar de ser Doutor em Medicina pela Universidade de Reims, foi a bot\u00e2nica que o notabilizou, com a publica\u00e7\u00e3o do seu \u00abComp\u00eandio Bot\u00e2nico\u00bb em 1788, em Paris.
